Taking a somewhat more secular approach, I discuss the Shakespearean sources
of the name "Sebastian" in RLSK in a little piece in the current issue of
the *Nabokov Online Journal:* "'Which is Sebastian?' What's in a
(Shakespearean and Nabokovian) Name." There are two Sebastians in
Shakespeare; in *Twelfth Nigh*t and in *The Tempest*, and both primarily
play the role of *brother*, a pretty obvious link to Nabokov's novel.
