[NABOKOV-L] The Fulmerford Mystery

Once in a while a Nab-L posting arrived with the notice: "Sent to you by Fulmerford via Google Reader: SIGHT." (related to a "Naboblog"?) The name sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it anywhere.

Today, I found a Nabokovian reference in "Strong Opinions" (Vintage,p.34) and I wonder what's the nature of the link?

Q: What do you want to accomplish or leave behind - or should this be of no concern to the writer?
VN: ..."I have a fair inkling of my literary afterlife... No doubt there will be ups and downs, long periods of slump. With the Devil's connivance, I open a newspaper of 2063 and in some article on the books page I find: "Nobody reads Nabokov or Fulmerford today." Awful question: Who is this unfortunate Fulmerford?"
