Subject
Baby boy or baby girl in Lolita?
Date
Body
Lolita says she's going to have a baby. She guesses "he's going to be a big
one" and that "he'll come right for Christmas" (266). But later on Humbert
hopes "it will be a boy" (309) and from the very beginning we're told by
John Ray that Lolita "died in childbed, giving birth to a stillborn girl"
(3).

How do you explain that?

Thanks
