It seems to me that multiple personality theory has this weakness -
you just don't see what pieces of true gold
you throw away because you underestimate their meaning. Is it because
you don't have this emigrant experience yourselves? Sergei

Yes, interesting. But can you see that madness is a kind of exile?
Interesting that you use the expression "true gold" since the closest
thing to "true gold" in the novel is the "crown jewels." How do you
understand the "crown jewels"? In Nabokov's case, for example - - the
Russian language? his culture inherited from home and family? And in
Kinbote's case? What are Kinbote's crown jewels?
