"on some kind of French television program "!!!
This is the famous APOSTROPHES by Bernard Pivot.
For those who don't speak French, please see Boyd's VN: The American Years .

I found three online video clips of Nabokov, speaking on some kind of French
television program about "Lolita," translation and "Ada." I've heard
Nabokov's readings before, but this is the first I've ever seen the great
man move and speak -- albeit in a language I don't understand.

For anyone interested, I posted all three clips are on my blog:

If that doesn't work, go to and type "Nabokov" in the search
