Aside from Raphael's bizarre remarks regarding Bellow and VN in general,
and
Pnin and Herzog in particular, his review IS a rather nice demolition of
both Bellow and Atlas' new biography. Those who find Bellow's enduringly
high reputation a mystery ( I recently read an interview with Martin Amis
in
which he fairly raved about Bellow's most recent novel - "A staggering
masterpiece" or some such thing) should enjoy Raphael's review.
