Dear Nabokovians,

I've already sent the answer to S. Il'in and apologize for not announcing
it to the list. The answer to my very tangled tangle is, basically, Herzog.
(and I applaud Christopher Berg)
Thank you for your help.

Leonid.

No: but if "the main character" in either is either Dukes or Herzog (i.e.
Duke in German), it is a country ruled over by a Duke. Which may, or may
not, help to untangle this very tangled tangle!
