An excellent paper discussing the artistic function of homosexuality
in Pale Fire was presented by Paul Allen Miller at the Texas Tech
NABOKOV AND IDEOLOGY conference held a few years ago. "The
Crewcut as Homoerotic Discourse in Nabokov's Pale Fire," will soon
be published in a volume of selected articles from the conference. I
recommend it to anyone interested in this subject.
