QUERY: VN Interview quote? (fwd)
Date
Body
Since a more precise answer has not been forthcoming
today, I'll venture my dim recollection: It is definitely VN,
the original was definitely in Russian, something like
"Genii -- eto negr, kotoryi vo sne vidit sneg" (i.e. sees
in his night-dreams, intuits something completely
outside of his daily experience). My guess is that it is in "Dar".
I also guess that it is a thought Fyodor has to himself, rather
than speaks out loud. Maybe he would say it to Zina.

Hasn't anyone scanned VN's novels into electronic
form yet?

I recently received an e-mail with the following quote at the bottom. Can
someone tell me if this is in fact a VN quote? And if so, what is the
source, and the context?

"Genius is the African that dreams of snow."

Thanks very much.
