The _Times Literary Supplement_ (London) of Oct. 17, 1997 is a special
issue devoted to "The Other Modernists." VN (not one of the "others") gets
little mention but there is a lot of Paulhan, Supervielle, and mentions of
Hellens. VN had dealings with these figures during his French years and it
might be worth looking into. I notice John Burt Foster's _The Art of
Memory: VN and European Modernism_ does not mention these figures (at
least in the index).
