Agreed! For a similar example, see my analysis of the [long] opening
paragraph of "Spring in Fialta" where the narrative begins with an
apparently straightforward descrition of the location, but ends in
what seem like trivial details of torn posters and orange peel - all
of which are later revealed as important lietmotifs in the story.

The analysis should be recoverable from NABOKV-L. It went out
in both June and September of this year.
