NABOKOV MUSEUM NEEDS YOUR URGENT HELP!

By dana_dragunoiu, 29 April, 2019

Dear Friends of Nabokov:

The Nabokov Museum in St. Petersburg has been facing hard times recently, with the University cutting the salaries of its staff far below a sustainable (or livable) level. They also just appointed a new "director" to the Nabokov Museum who is not a Nabokov scholar or researcher of any kind (Tatiana Ponomareva, so far, remains as some sort of co-director, but the future is murky). A group of Nabokov enthusiasts, scholars, fans, and devotees has organized a petition to the Russian government, asking that the Museum be transferred from the University to the City of State Petersburg or State Ministry of Culture for its administration. If you love Nabokov and want to see the Museum's extraordinary work of the past two decades continued, please sign the petition and spread it widely!

The petition has already collected over one thousand signatures, but we need far more than that to achieve success.
