As usual, the arguments of the adepts of "multiple personality theory"
seem to me shaky - Carolyn is known to be a master of provoctive arguments,
Jansy, being a psychoanalyst follows gladly, Matt fells to the old
temptation again...

I am more than a little disturbed by these remarks by a List member. I don't think they should have been allowed, but since they have been, let me just state my protest.

Carolyn

EDNote--Duly noted: I interpreted these remarks to be friendly in intent, if "provocative" in their own right; I certainly hope I wasn't wrong.  All are encouraged to police their own language for possible insensitivity and--just as important--to assume the best intentions in the language of our sparring partners, if at all possible.  And by all means be sure to continue keeping me honest!  As a rule, it is probably best, as Carolyn suggests, to avoid sweeping characterizations of one another's thought and arguments on-list.~SB
