Is Zadie Smith's 2005 lecture on "Pnin" available anywhere in print (or, 
even better, online)? The list archives yield this,

which contains a lot of judgment but no summary of what was actually said. 
The audience member's question (mentioned in the post) makes me very 
curious: what WAS Smith's thesis that the questioner "couldn't have 
disagreed with more" if Smith'd said VN was a Spanish pilot?
