do not forget that in case of "mimetism" and "double" there is
a third party - the observer, who sees the things as similar
and should be misled in case of mimetism. The "Despair" ( the original
title, "Otchayanie" in russian, does not have this connotation
"dis-pair") is an exemple of "doubleness" which is not perceived
as such (just the opposite) by this third party. One may also think of
frequently observed similarity between a pet and its owner or married
couple - cf. with case Shade/Kinbote. Emotional dependence
leads to similarity.
