In April 2007 the Nabokov Museum celebrates Valdimir Nabokov's birthday with the traditional Nabokov Readings which is actually an annual festival including various events.

The year 2007 is special for many reasons. It's thirty years since the death of Vladimir Nabokov in 1977. Also, it's the year of several anniversaries. The year 1937 saw the publication of "The Gift", VN's Russian masterpiece. In 1947 "Bend Sinister" was published, in 1957 it was "Pnin", in 1967 - "Speak, Memory".

Besides, it's the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Nabokov Museum!

Our April program includes:

April 10 - opening of the new acquisitions exhibition of the Batovo photo album.

April 23-24 - Nabokov Readings, a two-day conference.

April 23 - opening of the temporary art exhibition by Nadjezjda van Ittersum, a Dutch artist and sculptress closely related to the Nabokov Family.

April 25 - showing of the new video materials in the Museum Collection.

April 27 - unveiling of the sculpture of Nabokov in the University Garden (the first ever monument to VN in Russia!)

The program may include other events which will be posted later.
