I agree with you; VN valued the writers of children stories as well as
the writers of detective stories, and he wrote of their readers: "... those
who revel in detective yarns, bless their pure soul..." (RLSK chapter6 - in
a letter from Sebastian to his publisher) And I think VN shared the views
he attributed to Sebastian, as RLSK is also, I think a kind of "manifeste
littéraire".
