People who read my notes will notice that in my
latest one "arrived in Paris" (about Vorob'yaninov) is a misprint. He
arrived in Stargorod (where he had been marshal of the nobility before
Revolution) from N., a small town not far from Stargorod, but
dvornik Tikhon is sure that his former barin came directly
from Paris. By the way, dvornik Tihon* = drink
+ vino (wine) + hot (it is very hot in Tikhon's
lodge).
