Hello all. Does anyone know if VN was aware of Pushkin's affection for A Narrative of the Captivity and Adventures of John Tanner (1830), an account of the life of an American boy captured by Ojibwa, who lived with them for 30 years? Pushkin enthusiastically reviewed the French translation in Sovremennik not long before his death (as detailed in Tatiana Wolff's Pushkin on Literature and Gordon M. Sayre's "Abridging Between Two Worlds").
