Lolita says she's going to have a baby. She guesses "he's going to be a big one" and that "he'll come right for Christmas" (266). But later on Humbert hopes "it will be a boy" (309) and from the very beginning we're told by John Ray that Lolita "died in childbed, giving birth to a stillborn girl" (3).

How do you explain that?
