Dear International Vladimir Nabokov Society Members, Recent Members, and Future Members,

Due to extended deliberations within the Society's Board of Directors, action on this year's Society-produced materials was delayed until now.  The Board has decided to authorize one more print-only issue of The Nabokovian, after which--in 2016-- there will be a web site called The Nabokovian, which will also become available as a print-option for those who wish to receive it, as long as demand is sufficient and the Board continues to support the arrangement.

In order to cover costs of one issue, to be mailed some time in late January, and also some costs of the new Web Site, dues for 2015 will be $20 for those in the US, $24 for those in Canada, and $28 for those in other countries.  We prefer that you pay via PayPal if possible, but checks are accepted as well, as are Western Union payments. Click here to reach our payment page. US checks, written to "Vladimir Nabokov Society," may be mailed to Stephen Blackwell, MFLL, 701 McClung Tower, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN 37996.  We may also be able to receive PayPal payments directly to our membership address, nabokovsociety@utk.edu.

The deadline for submissions to Issue No. 74 of The Nabokovian  is January 1, 2016. The issue will be dated 2015.  In addition to Priscilla Meyer's "Notes and Brief Commentaries" (for which the call follows below), translations of commentaries from editions in other languages than are especially welcome.  These could be serialized complete translations of full commentary sets, or excerpts of particularly significant and unusual observations from these commentaries.  Permission of the original author and publisher will be required.  If publishers ask, the publication will be private, not for sale, and non-profit, with a run of about 150.  It will subsequently, with 6-12 months delay, be available on the new website to paying members of the Society. Please email such translated commentaries to me, sblackwe@utk.edu.

This is also the final issue that will be edited by me (Stephen Blackwell), and for future printed issues we will be selecting another editor.  The Web Site will have individual column editors, but no "editor in chief".  More details will be announced soon. Thank you for your continued patience and support.

We look forward to receiving your submissions.

Respectfully,

Stephen Blackwell
Secretary/Treasurer
The International Vladimir Nabokov Society
