Vladimir Nabokov

Looking for Nabokovians at St Petersburg University

By Victoria Alexander, 20 January, 2019

Hello.

I have been awarded a Fulbright Specialist position as a researcher of Nabokov's theory of insect mimicry. I am traveling to Moscow this July to speak on a related topic and I would like to be able to visit the Nabokov Museum in St Petersburg in July as well. I've been in touch with the museum's director Tatiana Ponomareva about doing a seminar at the museum in mid to late July with a Fulbright providing the grant for my travel and salary. She tells me that the museum now operates under the University. In order to get the Fulbright funding, the museum would have to work with the StPU to provide modest housing (usually in the dorms). I'm writing to ask if any our my colleagues here on the forum are at StPU and would like to work with the Nabokov Museum to host an insect mimicry seminar in July.

Thanks for your help. I don't speak Russian, which has made things all the more difficult.
