This is to alert you about a new computer virus that seems to be spreading quickly via E-mail.
The "Sobig" viral worm attempts to disable virus detection software and may cause damage to your computer system and/or make it vulnerable to external control. It also spreads itself to other machines and clogs up E-mail systems.

Information about the virus is incomplete, but unlike other recent ones, this one seems very detectable. With incoming mail messages containing the virus:

the subject will be one of these:

                         Re: Movies
                         Re: Sample
                         Re: Document
                         Re: Here is that sample

The attachment will be one of these:

                         Movie_0074.mpeg.pif
                         Document003.pif
                         Untitled1.pif
                         Sample.pif

There does not appear to be a message body.

The sender may be big@boss.com, but this could vary.

If you receive an E-mail message with any of the subjects above, or containing any of the attachments above, DELETE it at once. If possible, do not even open it for inspection.
Just highlight it with one click and DELETE it. Whatever you do, DO NOT open the attachment!

McAfee and Norton anti-virus software users should be protected against this new viral worm if they download/update their virus definitions files to the latest definitions. It is suggested that you do this IMMEDIATELY.
