Here are the rest of my comments on Ada, done in some haste, but pretty thoroughly. The impression is that Ilyin's experience shows in his general cadences and elsewhere, although he makes a number of errors and tends sometimes toward "otsebiachina". Skliarenko is perhaps more accurate, but the structure of his sentences and paragraphes is sometimes awkward, and he commits the occasional lapse. I have made corrections where I thought them necessary and, more frequently, suggested improvements. In a number of cases, the versions of both translators have been combined, occasionally with additional alterations. Both Alexey and Mr Ilyin are to be greatly commended for their excellent work. I apologize for having left out O. Kirichenko's work, but unfortunately her numerous outright errors and general shortcomings, to my mind, leave her out of the running.
