Translating this article by VDN raised an interesting question: where did his (and consequently his son's) anti-antisemitism come from?

Was this a tradition in the family? Was it unique in their class? Did Russian anti-antisemitism exist outside the Nabokov family?

As a Jew and a fan of Nabokov I wannano. Does anybody?
