Dear
List,
KINBOTE is the name of a new Dutch literary magazine, the first issue of
which appeared in June 2005, published by Prometheus,
Amsterdam.
The
editors state "Poetry which looks like a report, fiction disguised as
autobiography, a journalistic commentary moulded as a short
story. All this, too, in the spirit of Charles Kinbote, the protagonist of
Pale Fire, the enigmatic novel of Vladimir Nabokov of 1962." (p.
004)
The
first contribution is an article entitled "Kinbote" by the Dutch writer Hafid
Bouazza and is an introduction to VN's novel as a hell of
mirrors.
