The only comment I can think of along those lines is from Nabokov's character Charles Kinbote in Pale Fire. Kinbote privately bemoans his friend John Shade's disbelief, and considers to himself how many of history's great artists have been inspired by their Christian beliefs. Nabokov was not a practicing Christian and I have trouble imagining him saying that Christian novelists or humorists were in any way superior to their non-Christian peers.
