A correction concerning the "Jaseur" (waxwing). Their garrulousness ( an unreliable "jaseur") must be typical of all three  Bombycillidae species. Apparently the bird named after John Shade's ornithologist father must have been of the Bombycilla cedrorum species, perhaps less "garrulous" than Kinbote going for walks or writing his commentary from a "Cedarn cave"..:

Bombycilla garrulus ( "Jaseus boréal" or Bohmenian Waxwing); Bombycilla cedrorum ( "Jaseur d' Amérique" or Cedar Waxwing) and Bombycilla japonica ("Jaseur du Japon" or Japanese Waxwing).
