From Carolyn to the List,
I just read a review of the recently published edition of The Notebooks of Robert Frost (did you know that his middle name was Lee after the Southern general? neither did I).
As I read the review which quotes some of the notes Frost wrote to himself in these journals, I was reminded of Shade;s notations to himself within the poem, which are then echoed in Kinbote's publishing notes to the printer - - both Shade & Kinbote of course equally inappropriately.
