Venus
Venus is a brave, literate and achingly real look at an aged actor's crush on a brash teenage girl. Starting off like a modern riff on Lolita, Venus becomes a far more evenly matched contest than anything Nabokov (or Kubrick) ever contemplated.
Venus will be remembered for Peter O'Toole's fearless lead, but the film-makers deserve a lot of credit for getting so much bold and cheerfully controversial material up on the screen. Venus is still playing.

And let's not forget Amazing Grace, Conversations with My Gardener, The Host, Pierrepoint, The Simpsons Movie, Inland Empire, Knocked Up, The Italian, Transformers, Once, The Bourne Ultimatum, Control, Heartbreak Hotel, Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten, Infamous and a bunch of others I'll remember after my deadline has passed.
