As an optional extra following the conference, on June 28th there will also be a day-trip, by bus, to the Nabokov estates of Vyra and Rozhdestveno (cost approx. $50). The year 2009 marks Vladimir Nabokov's 110th anniversary, and the aim of this Conference is to bring Russian and international Nabokov scholars together to explore the current situation in Nabokov scholarship, focusing in particular on the difficulties for multicultural interpretations of texts which, whether by V. Sirin or V. Nabokov, are the fruits of a complex yet carefully integrated vision unparalleled in the history of literature. Papers may discuss any aspect of this theme and a diversity of approach will, indeed, be welcome. However, the length of each presentation will be strictly limited to 20 minutes. Additional time will be allowed for questions and answers. Russian and English will be the official languages of the Conference. Simultaneous translation will be provided by the organizers. We are hoping to arrange for the conference proceedings to be published in Russian by the St. Petersburg University Press. Anyone wishing to have their paper included will therefore need to submit it in Russian translation. Organizing Committee: Prof. Boris Averin, Russian Literature Department Prof. Alexander Karpov, Chair, Russian Literature Department Tatiana Ponomareva, Director, Vladimir Nabokov Museum Please send abstracts of approximately 200 words, and a brief CV to Daniel Sirgeev, the conference coordinator at HYPERLINK "mailto:sirgeev@gmail.com" \t "_blank" sirgeev@gmail.com The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2009. Registration details will be announced later. All information on travel to Russia, visa matters and accommodation will be sent upon request. The conference will be followed by our traditional Nabokov 101 Summer School (June 29-July 7). The School program will be announced later. )HihMhMhM0JmH sH jhMUhMmH sH hMhMmH sH &'()cgdM$a$gdM(.
