Taking a somewhat more secular approach, I discuss the Shakespearean sources of the name "Sebastian" in RLSK in a little piece in the current issue of the Nabokov Online Journal: "'Which is Sebastian?'  What's in a (Shakespearean and Nabokovian) Name."  There are two Sebastians in Shakespeare; in Twelfth Night and in The Tempest, and both primarily play the role of brother, a pretty obvious link to Nabokov's novel.
