The New Yorker, Feb. 7, 2011,  p. 77, "A Dog's Life" by Joan Acocella:  "In a 1958 essay on `Lolita,' Lionel Trilling suggested that Nabokov chose a subject as shocking as pedophilia for want of any more potent image of forbidden love."
