Nabokov wins Italian award

Dmitri Nabokov, the son of the famous Russian writer, Vladimir Nabokov, has won the international literary award "Russia-Italy Through the Ages."

The award for the best translation of Russian literature into Italian was won by Nabokov for his father's tale "The Wizard."

The second prize was awarded to Italian Mario Asessandro Kurletto for a translation of work by Russian journalist Yulia Latynina called "Niyazbek."

A special prize was awarded to distinguished translator-debutant, Valentina Parisi, who worked on the story of Paul Sanaev, "Bury Me Behind the Baseboard."
