I'm sure that this is a misunderstanding and that the "discovered"
screenplay/scenario doesn't exist. Elif Batuman wrote a piece in the
March/April issue of the Believer magazine (see
http://www.believermag.com/issues/201003/?read=article_batuman, "Missed
Encounters with the Movies") in which she describes "Seven Unproduced
Screenplays by Famous Intellectuals". One she describes is VN's "The
Love of a Dwarf", information about which she surely must have taken
from Boyd's biography (see p. 230 of "VN: The Russian Years"). Boyd
points out that the piece, based on "Kartofel'nyy El'f", may never have
been completed.
