B. Walters: ... followers of this thread might be interested in my article on the web-site Zembla called "Synthesizing Artistic Delight: The Lesson of Pale Fire,"
JM: I was immediately reminded of your article by JA's choice of a quote. Thank you for renewing the link to http://www.libraries.psu.edu/nabokov/walter.htm
JAisenberg: ...I'm pretty sure that somewhere within the interviews of Strong Opinions he said flat out he didn't believe in Einstein.
JM: I picked up Boyd's book "Nabokov's ADA, the Place of Consciousness" and began afresh on Chapter 4 ( Space, Time and Consciousness). Boyd doesn't mention in it any interdependence of words and perception/consciousness. Can we isolate Nabokov's "metaphysics" from his art? In the literary domain the power and "reality" of words, plus the silences they encompass, are all we have[ from Ada, if Van Veen can be trusted...: In "real" life we are creatures of chance in an absolute void - unless we be artists ourselves, naturally.]
