End of a shaggy dog story?

Stan K-B wrote on "better options among shagbark trees"...: "a naughty
reading (perish the thought): shag (copulate) + bark (doggie fashion)
BUT, the Brit 'shag' in that sense seems out of CK's 'register'?"

Good Grief!
I started the entire shag rag because I disliked the insistent mention
by Shade ( not by CK) of what sounded as "heavy", or "clumsy" to my
innocent ears: it now seems that I was just wildly censoring naughty
thoughts..
One may say "shaggy dog" and a bark is also a bark is also a bark...
