Also the entries already discussed where Kinbote is a Dr, (like Jekyll? like
every PhDs?) whereas the poet is, simply Shade, John Shade.

Dear Jansy,
Not just in the index. Although Kinbote and Shade seem to be equally well if
differently educated, whenever a title is mentioned, Kinbote is always "Dr"
and Shade always "Mr" - - reversing the two characters Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
of course. A subtle clue perhaps but hard to argue away.
