Urgent: List Format Problems?

Dear Subscribers,

I have just been made aware that some of you are occasionally, or even
regularly, receiving messages with formatting that appears faulty,
cumbersome, or otherwise non-functional. I was unaware of this problem
until a few minutes ago: I receive all messages through a non-editorial
subscription, and my copies of messages have appeared to be perfect.

I do not know what is causing incompatabilities. It could be
occasional, anomalous errors generated by the listserver. (It does have
some quirks). But that seems unlikely, as then I probably would have
received some faulty messages, too. More likely, it is some sort of
clash between my mail program (Mozilla Thunderbird) and some of your
email programs. I find this very surprising if it is the true cause,
but I would like to find out.

There was a listserv software "upgrade" (and some other changes) back in
mid-February that radically changed the program's behavior, from my
point of view. Did these problems begin in mid-February, or earlier?

If you are receiving mis-formatted messages, please contact me directly
using the link at the bottom of list messages. Please describe, as
precisely as possible, the nature of the formatting error. Please tell
me which email program, or Webmail interface, you are using when you
experience the problem. If you have been keeping your mangled messages
a secret, please tell me about them now. I hope to have this problem
solved within the next day or two.

Thanks as always for your understanding and patience.
