1. Maxim Shrayer, one of Nabokovia's most energetic researchers, has
found, annotated, and published a Russian-language interview with VN
broadcast on Voice of America on May 14, 1958. The interview appears the
monthly _Druzhba narodov_, #11, 2000, pp. 193-96.

2. Kirhan Krishna (University of Sydney, Australia) has kindly sent
me Craig Raine's 1998 "Afterword" to a Penguin edition of LAUGHTER IN
THE DARK (pp.189-1999). Raine's essay is well worth reading -- as are
his "Aftewords" to other Penguin VN editions. Raine is himself a
well-known poet with vaguely Nabokovian inclinations.

3. Also thanks for KK, I found a little-known review "Belloc's
Essays -- Mild but Pleasant" by VN on Hilaire Belloc's THE SILENCE OF
THE SEA AND OTHER ESSAYS from the NEW YORK TIMES of November 23, 1941.It
