On the last page of "The Sophisticated Traveler" section of the
March 2, 1997 _New York Times_ is a piece entitled "On the Road With
Whomever." The reader is asked to match fourteen quotations describing
various locales with the writers who made the observations. Number 14 is a
passage on Berlin from "Speak, Memory." Other writers who are quoted
include William McGonagall, Shusaku Endo, William Least Heat-Moon, Isak
Dinesen, Frances Trollope, William Shakespeare, and Julia Child.
