Wallace, who is surely one of the most important young novelists writing
today (I'll know in 40-50 years or so)(see under Pynchon, Disciples of; and
Historiographic metafiction, Addiction to). He has on several occasions
nodded to Nabokov, including calling him a "patriarch for my patricide."
Wallace's strong opinions about the exhaustion of post modern fiction and
Nabokov's place in the evolution of modernism into pomo can be found in an
interview with Larry McCaffery in _Review of Contemporary Fiction_ 13
(Summer 1993) 127-150.
