An additional note to Alexey Sklyarenko: 'Okh, nado passati!' exclaimed Percy in the Slavic slang..As I pointed out before (Nab-l, 24.05.10), the phrase tempi passati (It., "past times") ...
JM: An accidental find revealed why I linked Alexey's "nado passati","tempi passati"to... "time flees" (particularly in relation to Horace's Ode 2:14).
In Nabokov's "Speak,Memory" (Vintage,1989,pg.295) Ch.15 we read: "They are passing, posthaste, posthaste, the gliding years - to use a soul-rending Horatian inflection. The years are passing, my dear, and presently nobody will know what you and I know."
