A popular magazine collection, with at least eight different volumes, "Cadernos Entre Livros" (Duetto/Ediouro, at www.lojaduetto.com.br) offers, in volume 3, a panoramic view of American literature to the general reader. The opening article, written by Marcos Soares, brings a chronological chart in which Nabokov's name appears close to the period when Steinbeck, Hemmingway and Faulkner published their works. His name is graphically extended into Edward Albee's, but I found no explanation for it in the pages I examined. Nabokov is also placed together with Bellow, Singer, Updike and Salinger as a representative of "American existencialism."
The information about Nabokov, "Beyond the Nymphet," signed by Marcelo Ferroni (editor of Alfaguara/Objetiva), presents a biographical sketch, with descriptions of VN's principal novels, memoirs, interviews and lectures. From Nabokov's correspondence with Wilson were extracted the closing lines of the article about "the writer as an enchanter(shamanstvo)."

A scanned copy of the texts is attached.
