The linked story begins with a (not entirely appropriate) quote from Lolita, but the reference farther along is of more interest:
"In his opening remarks, Levine, an avuncular man given to unpredictable facial grimaces, cast the women as ambitious Lolitas who, frustrated by stalled careers, 'jumped on the bandwagon' to 'tear down a celebrity.'"
Yet another example of the cultural corruption so well described by Ellen Pifer in the Lolita chapter of Demon or Doll and, in richly entertaining detail, by Graham Vickers in Chasing Lolita: How Popular Culture Corrupted Nabokov's Little Girl All Over Again.
