Please remember, "intelligent design", as equivalent to evolution, does not
involve an origin of life. Therefore, "intelligent design" could involve a
superior being who originated life, yet let it evolve, which does not
involve a fixed future. Many mistake evolution for a theory of the origin
of life, but it does not address this. This changes the debate (the tape of
life, when rewound, may not produce similar life forms if played again)
which contradict any predictions.

Isn't all fiction "intelligent design"--the creator knows the beginning, but
may or may not know the end?
Evolution--it works in all contexts.
