Dear List,

Let me clarify my recent response to Anthony Stadlen's post in case of any misunderstanding: messages on Eliot and Goethe are welcome, of course, as long as they concern Nabokov. If a thread starts to veer away from VN (as this one seemed to do when it began focusing on specific details relating only to Eliot's notes to the Wasteland), I will try to steer things back iin his direction.
