QUERY: VN's Ovid

Dear list,
I am working on an essay involving Nabokov's use of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
I would like to know if anyone is aware of which translation(s) Nabokov
favored. I'm assuming he didn't translate it himself. Anyone happen to
know?
Thanks,
Matt Roth
P.S. I agree that "gem of a state" is a pretty solid indication that
Elphinstone is in Idaho. Good work!
