"The Writer's Brush" is an exhibition based on Donald Friedman's book "The
Writer's Brush: Paintings, Drawings, and Sculpture by Writers" (Mid-List),
which comes out this month. The exhibit, curated by Friedman, includes more
than a hundred and twenty unique works by eighty of the world's most
celebrated writers who were also artists, including *New Yorker* writers and
contributors such as James Thurber, Vladimir Nabokov, Jonathan Lethem, Annie
Proulx, Charles Simic, Mark Strand, and Derek Walcott.
