In the comment in which Kinbote describes the double bicycle
lemniscates, he also uses the word (italicized in the text) coramen. I
thought maybe he meant foramen, an opening in bone for nerves to pass
through. And now that we know of nervous system lemnisci, this meaning
makes sense. But why the f > c substitution?
Don, any ideas (I've been enjoying your "Nabokov as a Man of Letters")?

Hazel theme.

Now that I look again, I spot Carmen possibly, but the o - - O, Carmen?
The
brain imagery usually seems to apply to Shade/Kinbote. But the italics
hint
at Hazel. Mysterious. Is she ever seen on a bicycle? Is anyone ever seen
on
a bicycle for that matter?
